Amanda Davids, and the House Band at The Dazzling LoungeReview by: Robert Shore 24/11/2011 The night was abuzz with speculation. What kind of song will this release be. Amanda Davids has a reputation for fusing funk, soul, hip-hop and RnB with classical music, latin jazz and hints of bebop. Will it be soulful? Will it be funky? Will it have the prodigious grand piano we typically hear from her, or will it have hints of the Hammond B-3 she has absorbed from her teacher, jazz great, Tony Monaco.
Diane Williamson - Ontario Singer/Songwriter
On Saturday Diane was with her four piece band known as the Diane & Friends Band. The snow was enough to keep it an intimate crowd, but there was no shortage on the dance floor. Diane and the lads kept us all in good spirits throughout the night, with their randitions of everyone's favorites while taking requests on the fly. Notable points in their sets included Mustang Sally, Brown Eyed Girl, and some great performance of a couple of Etta James numbers. All the band members are strong singers and each took the lead as they played through the night. Songs by Elvis and The Beatles where enchanting with 4 part vocal harmonies. Diane & Friends always seem to have a lot of fun, their chemistry on stage is great. You can't help but have a good time at their shows.

We went to see Diane Williamson for the first time in November. On Saturday Jan. 15 we caught up with Diane again. Diane has been playing frequently between Whitby and Cobourg, ON, and north to Lindsay at the local Legion. Diane has also had steady gigs at Maddies in Bowmanville for quite a few years.
